You may not have noticed it today as you went about your business, did your grocery shopping, complained about gas prices or spent time with family or friends, but something changed today. No, we didn’t elect a president or solve any major international crisis, but a little, tiny ray of hope appeared on the horizon. His name is John Philip “Jack” Moore, and he arrived at 9:48 this morning weighing 8lb. 2 oz. and measuring 21 inches.
He is named primarily for two of the best men we know … Jack Shoemake (Anne’s father … a lifelong educator) and Philip Moore (Gideon’s father … a lifelong minister). We have no idea if little Jack will impact the world the way his forebears have, but we are excited to watch and see just exactly how God will use this little boy.
If there is anything our little family has learned over the past few years, it is that nothing can be taken for granted, and tonight we are praising God for Jack’s safe delivery.

Congratulations Gideon! I was encouraged this morning when I read your family's entry and announcement on Jack! You really believe in your family's legacy and that is wonderful!! I haven't see you in some 15 years(?) but I rejoice with you today my friend!
Love,
Susie (Davis) and Cody Hornor
